Glenn shares the values he learned from his parents who were both teachers. While graduating in the top five in his class, Glenn was rated the number 1 basketball player in the state of Georgia. He credits his dad, a former coach and teacher at Georgia School for the Deaf, and the hearing impaired athletes for teaching him the game of basketball and sign language. Glenn credits his mom, an elementary school teacher, for inspiring a love of learning through mandatory study periods, even in the summer, and through books which were collected in every room of their home. With these surroundings, Glenn achieved perfect attendance through twelve years of public school. In college Glenn majored in mathematics while being voted the number 1 Academic All - American basketball player in the country; he was awarded a post graduate scholarship.

As a member of the New York Knicks, Glenn started the nation's first summer basketball camp for hearing impaired youth and received the NBA's Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award. After serving as a TV basketball analyst on networks such as ESPN, TBS, TNT, CNN and Fox Sports, Glenn turned his attention to enhancing education for students and young scholars. Through exhibits, he shared rare books, newspapers, documents and other artifacts from his nationally acclaimed collection; Glenn researched and wrote three published books. Teachers of all levels have appreciated his appearances and have marveled at his ability to captivate and motivate his audience.
